Health and pedigree for Lana

In late 2009 Lana had been suffering from chronic nausea and intermittent diarrhea. After some bloodwork, x-rays and an endoscopy, came the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease, an autoimmune disease. There really isn’t any incidence of serious autoimmune problems in her pedigree; so this was unexpected.

Lana is a lovely girl with a whole lot of drive. I’d debated about retiring her from competition off and on for quite a while, but wasn’t ever certain. Eventually Lana’s struggle with pain became too much to overcome for us and in August of 2011 I retired her from competing.

Lana is a brave girl and so tough.
